Homemade Soy Yogurt Recipe

Soy yogurt sets without any yogurt maker & starter !

You don’t need a yogurt maker to make soy yogurt. You may just leave the yogurt jars in a warm place. I’ve been using oatmeal as starter with excellent results. You can use organic strawberries as starter, too !

– 1 cup of Soy milk

– 2tbs of oatmeal

– Pour the soy milk into a jar.

– Sprinkle the oatmeal onto the milk , and stir.

– Leave them in a warm place to ferment for about 1 day.

– Save 2 tbs of yogurt from this batch for the next one as starter.

When I make the 1st batch of yogurt, I like to start with 2 tbs of oatmeal per cup of soy milk. This will be a tangy yogurt. Once you get the first yogurt, use 2 tbs per cup of soy milk for subsequent batches. Your yogurt will get better with the 3rd batch.

My preference is Homemade soy milk. If you want to use store-bought milk, you need to find a one that contains soy and water only. ( The concentration of solid soybean should be around 9 percent. )

Hi I just read about your soy yogurt with no starter. I would love to use this recipe as a yogurt starter. If I made this yogurt, can I take a few tablespoons of this soy and oatmeal yogurt and put it inside coconut milk to make coconut yogurt?
