How do you store all of the veggies you buy so they don’t spoil? Most of us don’t have the time to visit our grocers daily , and instead buy everything at once. By the end, we often find moldy greens & fruits in our refrigerator . Keeping them fresh can be a challenge.
Fresh produce tends to lose nutrients and flavor, plus grow rot quickly if it is not stored properly in the fridge. Here you will find how you can preserve fresh vegetables for the longest time possible without having to let it go to waste.
Here is our traditional tip on how to keep our vegetables fresher & longer!I store in containers like this with salt water in the fridge.Salt water is a brilliant solution for preserving a vegetables for a week.It doesn’t require canning or pickling of vegetables.
-fresh ‘salad’ vegetables(such as cucumbers, carrots, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, cabbage etc )
-1 tablespoon of salt
(-if you have kelp, add small piece of it.)
-make the salt water. Combine water & salt in a pan. Boil to dissolve the salt, and let it cool.
-Wash vegetables. Cut them into desired sizes.
-Pack them into the containers
-Pour the salt water over the vegetables.
-Store them in the refrigerator.
They are not canned. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
How to eat ?
-Chop them up into a salad.
-make Soup(Brine can be used for soup,too.)
